Pricing FAQ
How are litigation fees calculated at Naidu Chambers?
We use three models depending on the matter: hourly (RM 600 to RM 1,500 depending on the lawyer's seniority and case complexity), fixed-fee (for clearly-scoped work like uncontested divorces, simple debt recovery, and standard contracts), and capped-fee (hourly with a ceiling agreed in advance).
Do you offer fixed fees for divorce in Malaysia?
Yes, for joint petitions where both parties agree on terms. Fixed fees typically range from RM 4,000 to RM 8,000 depending on whether children, property, or maintenance are involved. Contested divorces are billed hourly because the work is unpredictable.
What does a medical negligence case cost?
Medical negligence claims involve significant expert work and are usually run on hourly fees with disbursements (medical reports, court fees, expert witnesses). Initial consultation is free. We may consider partial deferred-fee arrangements in strong cases — discussed case by case.
How much for a shareholders agreement?
Standard shareholders agreements for SMEs range from RM 5,000 to RM 15,000 depending on shareholder count, complexity of provisions (drag/tag rights, anti-dilution, exit mechanics), and any cross-border elements. We provide a fixed quote after the initial consultation.
Are there any free services?
Yes — initial consultations are free for new clients (30 minutes). We also publish over 90 free legal guides on our blog covering common Malaysian legal questions.
